2019 Cart Races
The 2019 Cart Races held on Saturday, April 20th
again proved to be fun and entertaining.
21 teams signed up to participate, with the driver blindfolded and receiving directions from his or her navigator. Their strategies varied, with some going for "time" rather then worrying about penalties, whereas others did the opposite. All contestants were "timed" for their trip through the course, with 10 second penalties added for each cone knocked over and for each time they "left" the course.
Roger ties Joann's blindfold on while Al patiently waits to navigate her through the course...
A few contestants went so far as to decorate their carts for the event, and people anxiously waited at the finish line, awaiting their "times" and "penalties"...
80 people purchased tickets for the hamburgers and cheeseburgers that Al and Jerry cooked after the races. Joann and her volunteers again assisted in putting on a fantastic lunch.

A Sandwich potluck followed the service, and was enjoyed by the capacity crowd, as well the JRTOC Color Guard and their commander.
